What are vaginal discharge and the types of it?
Women’s vagina naturally produces clear or white discharge other than the natural menstrual cycle. This white mucus comes from the cervix. The amount of the discharge can also vary during ovulation, pregnancy or menopausal. It may also change due to sexual activity or use birth controls.
There are three types of vaginal discharge. White, yellow and clear discharge.
- White discharge is normal, especially during ovulation or just before a woman’s period. But on the other hand, if itchiness and burning occur, along with an unusual or foul smell, then this is a sign of infection.
- Yellow discharge can or can’t be a sign of infection. If the discharge is pale yellow and odorless then its perfectly safe. But on the other hand, yellow discharge can be a sign of sexually transmitted disease (STD).
- Clear discharge is typically normal. The amount of discharge can vary depending on the menstrual cycle and individualities.

What if u rarely have discharge is that normal or do u supposed to have it often because I’ve been on the depo shot for many years never missed an appointment and since I’m getting older I’m just not as moist down there when I was in my 20’s.
